Already eliminated, the hosts scored twelve goals to bid farewell to the Continental
In a match useful just to determine the final standing - Valk Tartu is already qualified for the second round - the hosts of Hockey Punks Vilnius defeat the Icelanders of Skautafelag Akureyri, already beaten by Valk the day before and thus leaving Vilnius without a win.
The game unlocks after 20 seconds, with the goal of Tadas Kumeliauskas, with a strong shot that leaves no chance for Jakob Johannesson. The doubling during the first power play, scored by Laisvydas Kudrevicius with a personal action, also deking the goalkeeper.
The Punks, however, decrease the pace and the SA takes advantage of it, managing to equalize: first Andri Mikaelsson in the 7th minute after a review by the referees for an alleged charge on the goalkeeper and then Aevar Arngrimsson in the 9th minute, whose assist is unfortunately deflected into goal by Simas Baltrunas. The Punks take the lead in power play with a beautiful goal from Jaunius Jasinevicius who finds the intersection of the posts from the blue line. The fourth goal of the hosts is instead the result of a bad mistake by goalkeeper Johannesson, replaced immediately after by Robert Steingrimsson, who lets out an easy puck touched by Ernestas Truksnys
In the central period the superiority of the home team emerges more clearly and the Punks close the game with another 4 goals within 5 minutes. At minute 30 Kumeliuskas receives a match penalty for a violent charge. After this episode the game gets nervous with frequent skirmishes: Markovsky scores the ninth goal before an SA mini-break, with Leifsson after a personal move and Gunnar Arason on a puck not secured by the goalkeeper.
The tenth goal comes in the 46th minute, scored by Markovsky, well served by Kudrevicius. Before taking a double penalty, the SA scores the fifth goal with Mikaelsson who beats Kristupas Pranckietis, who replaced Baltrunas after a few minutes of the third period. Despite the gap, the game remains fun for the few spactators. It ends 12-6 with some regrets for the Punks for the decisive defeat in the first match against Valk, although the Estonians have proven to be the strongest team
