Ferencvarosi and Sokil Kyiv open the second day of Continental Cup in Budapest with a decisive clash, maily for Ukranian team, looser in the first game against Olimp Riga. Finnish striker Rasmus Kulmala isn’t in the line up after the brutal charge suffered yesterday and his tournament is already over. Sokil begins more aggressive opening the score after 3 minutes with a personal move by Anton Vasiliev, netting after deking goalie Arany, today in the net. Ferencvarosi goalie is reactive on Smirnov and Nimenko in the central part of period. At minute 12 Smirnov steals a puck serving Danil Tikhomirov alone in front of the cage but the forward shots on Arany. In the first power play Ruban incredibly misses an easy deflection with the cage wide open. Ferencvaros seems incapable to react against the Sokil aggressive and quick style of playing. Before the end of the period the constant supremacy of Ukrainian team results in the second goal, scored by Danylo Korzhyletsky at the third attempt, after two rebounds by Arany.

After 45 seconds in the central period the game stops due to a broken glass after a charge by Cody Fowlie. After the restart, a little luckily Ferencvaros finds the first goal: an erratic puck is deflected by Gergo Nagy in the upper corner of the net with no chance for an astonished Dymitri Kubrytsky. The goal energizes Ferencvarosi that have two chances to equalize in 2 minutes, with Somogyi and Fowlie It’s a short flame, because quickly Sokil takes the control of the game again, leaving the best chances for the host only on power play.

The last period begin with Ferencvarosi on power play, poking Kubrytsky with a couple of shots from the blue, while on the other side it’s Danylo Nimenko to waste a capital chance missing the puck. The third goal, sealing a superiority for almost all the game, comes at 51:18, scored by Anton Ruban. It’s the final point in the game: before the ending Sokil has a couple of chances, scoring the fourth goal in penalty shot again with Ruban, legitimating a key victory to keep alive in the standing. Ferencvarosi will cheer for Valk tonight to avoid a victory for Olimp Riga that would complicate the chances to advance for Hungarian team
