Hk Mogo Riga win Baltic League
In a dramatic final Mogo won the home team HK Liepāja capturing the first edition of the international competition
HK Mogo Riga is the first champion of Baltic League, the international tournaments between the Baltic Republics created last season, but that play finals in this weekend.
Originally the final stage was supposed to take place at the end of last year, but COVID-19 outbreak forced to cancel for safety reasons.
Two goals of Man of the Match Rūdolfs Polcs overturned the game in the last period for the final 2-1 after Russian Dmitri Selyutin opened the score for the home team.
Latvian teams played the finals after both winning Lithuanian side Hockey Punks Vilnius.
The fourth team qualified for the finals, Estonian champion Valk Tartu, withdrew its participation from the final stage due the multiple injuries suffered by the team in the second stage of last week's Continental Cup in Budapest.
HK Mogo defender Krišjānis Rēdlihs received the tournament's best defender award, HK Liepaja Maris Jučers the best goalkeeper award, and Rudolfs Polcs was recognized as the most valuable player in BHL.
Due to all restrictions set in the country, all games were played in Liepaja behind closed doors
