It certainly looked like it could end up like that after Martin Johnsen and Eskild Bakke Olsen had scored to give Norway a 2-0 lead after half the game. But Belarus managed to turn things around even if they were outshot 31-22. Yegor Chezganov and Alexander Suvorov scored to tie the game. Norway desperately needed a win and pulled Markus Røhnebæk Stensrud from the net-. Valentin Demchenko saw the opportunity and took advantage of it to score the game-winning 3-2 goal.

Latvia beat Kazakhstan 3-1 to finish second with 12 points, three behind Belarus. Latvia and Belarus had played on the third day of the tournament with Belarus as a 2-1 winner.
