After trailing 2-0 against Norway, Belarus scored three goals to win the game and promote to the World Juniors.

If Norway had beaten Belarus on the last day of the World U20 Championship Div. 1A, three teams would have been tied on 12 points. It certainly looked like it could end up like that after Martin Johnsen and Eskild Bakke Olsen had scored to give Norway a 2-0 lead after half the game. But Belarus managed to turn things around even if they were outshot 31-22. Yegor Chezganov and Alexander Suvorov scored to tie the game. Norway desperately needed a win and pulled Markus Røhnebæk Stensrud from the net-. Valentin Demchenko saw the opportunity and took advantage of it to score the game-winning 3-2 goal.

Alexander Suvorov won the scoring title of the championship with 4 goals and 7 assists in the 5 played games.

Latvia beat Kazakhstan 3-1 to finish second with 12 points, three behind Belarus. Latvia and Belarus had played on the third day of the tournament with Belarus as a 2-1 winner.

The home team Denmark avoided relegation after beating Hungary 4-0 in the decisive game.
