Dinamo Riga out from KHL?
Latvian Minister of Education and Science urges the club to leave the competition
Latvian Minister of Education and Science Anita Muizhniece, whose department also oversees sports, called on Dinamo Riga to stop participating in the KHL.
The Minister said she intends to amend the sports law so that Dynamo is forced to leave the KHL.
"I hope that we will finally stop talking about sports (yes, and about music), which supposedly is not connected with politics ... Yes, I especially want to highlight the Dynamo Riga and the fact that this" story " is about participating in "Open Championship of Russia" should be stopped completely" the minister tweeted.
Mrs. Muizhniece said to Latvijas Radio that: In the coming days, I will propose that in this situation our athletes and our teams are banned from participating in the championships of other countries outside the European Union."
Dynamo Riga has been playing in the Kontinental Hockey League since the league was founded in 2008
