Easy win for Devils in the second game of Continental Cup Superfinals
Asiago didn’t repeat the good performance showed in the opening game in Continental Cup Superfinals opening game of day #2 and was easily defeat by Cardiff Devils, who is now back on track after the defeat on shootouts in the first game.
With the support of their fans, Devils almost close the question in the first period, scoring three unanswered goals against the Italian team, appeared less solid and energetic comparing with the game against the Slovak.
In the central period Asiago scores at 21:30 with Giordano Finoro well assisted by Allan McShane, but the celebrations for the goal lasted less than a minute, ruined by the immediate fourth Welsh goal, scored by Josh Brittain with a precise shot with no chances for goalie Justin Fazio. In the central part of the period Devils managed to survive 5-minutes penalties with no particular difficulties. Back on full strength, Cardiff increases the gap with a goal scored by Stefan Fournier at 51:56.
With this victory Cardiff reach 4 points in the standing, cheering for a victory of Nitra tonight to gain more chances for the final victory
