Against a technically inferior team, but well disposed on the ice and capable of defending with grit, Estonia wasted several opportunities after Mark Viitanen's equalizer in the first period and risked a couple of circumstances of conceding another goal.
It was again Kristijan Kombe, after scoring the decisive penalty against Serbia yesterday, who solve the game in the 42nd minute. With a bit of luck, Estonia then found the third goal, with the touch of a defender to push Robert Roba's puck in goal. The Netherlands drew closer again with a goal by Kilian Van Gorp who made the final minutes thrilling. Viitanen's goal into an empty net ended the fans' suffering and brought three points which keep the home team in the race for the promotion. The Netherlands, still pointless after two rounds, however showed progress compared to the debut
