The hosts raised their heads after the defeat in their debut match and beat Katowice
GKS Katowice and Cardiff Devils are protagonists of the closest match seen so far in these Superfinals. After the bad defeat in the debut against Nomad, the Devils get back striker Cole Ully, who immediately makes his mark by giving the home team the lead with a nice personal move. Despite the great support of the Polish fans, Katowice was unable to control the game and conceded the second goal, scored at 15:15 by Ryan Barrow. Cardiff's positive moment was interrupted three minutes before the first siren, when a first-time shot from Kacper Macias halved the deficit and revived Katowice.
The central period is more competitive, but without any great opportunities, except for the post hit by Ully and a couple of challenging saves by Murray in the power play that closed the period.
The last period is certainly more exciting: Katowice's pressure in search of an equalizer bears fruit at 45:20 when Joona Monto manages to overcome Ben Bowns. With the score at 2-2 the Poles seem to be able to find the lead goal, however, unexpectedly it is the Devils who take the lead 3-2 with Cody Donaghey 10 minutes from the end. Katowice tries to increase the pressure but the Polish game becomes a confused assault. Coach Plachta pull off the goalkeeper with two minutes to go but Cardiff defends well and takes their first victory
