The International Ice Hockey Federation (IIHF) has officially unveiled the schedule for the 2025 IIHF Ice Hockey World Championship, following the approval from all teams and stakeholders.

 
 
 
 

Group A in Stockholm

The tournament will be split between Stockholm and Herning. In Stockholm, the following teams will compete: Austria, Canada, Finland, France, Latvia, Slovakia, Slovenia, and Sweden. Group A's action will kick off on 9 May with the opening game between Austria and Finland. Fans can look forward to an intense rivalry matchup between Sweden and Finland on 12 May, while Sweden will conclude the group stage in a thrilling showdown against Canada on 20 May.

Group B in Herning

Group B, which takes place in Herning, will see Czech Republic, Denmark, Germany, Hungary, Kazakhstan, Norway, Switzerland, and USA compete. The group will begin on 9 May, when Denmark takes on the USA. This group’s opener will also feature a highly anticipated rematch between the reigning world champions Czechia and Switzerland, replaying the final of the 2024 World Championship. The group stage will wrap up with Denmark versus Germany on 20 May.

Knockout Rounds

The top four teams from each group will advance to the quarter-finals on 22 May, with two games held in Stockholm and two in Herning. Both semi-finals and the medal games will take place in Stockholm, with the semi-finals on 24 May and the bronze and gold medal games on 25 May.

Ticket Release

Tickets for the 2025 IIHF Ice Hockey World Championship will be available starting October 3, 2024.
