HC Galkan secures historic tenth championship title in Turkmenistan
The club of the Ministry of Internal Affairs has won the title of national champion ahead of schedule, becoming the ten-time winner of the national tournament.

This remarkable feat marks a perfect record—ten titles in ten seasons—solidifying the club’s status as an undisputed force in Turkmen hockey.
As reported by Neutral Turkmenistan, the success of Galkan stems from a well-balanced combination of seasoned expertise and relentless ambition. The team benefits from the guidance of Akhmet Gurbanov, the captain of the Turkmenistan national hockey team, and Guvanch Dzhepbarov, a former player whose experience has greatly contributed to the squad’s development. While Galkan maintained an unchallenged grip on the top spot, the competition for second place was intense. In a decisive final round match, the Oguzhan team secured the silver medal with a commanding 8–3 victory over Nesil. Meanwhile, the Şir team clinched the bronze, rounding out the tournament’s top three rankings.
The championship concluded with an awards ceremony honoring the tournament’s standout performers, all of whom hailed from the victorious Galkan squad. Kerimli Charyev was named the best goalkeeper, showcasing his reliability between the posts. Dovlet Hydyrov earned the title of best defender for his outstanding performances on the blue line, while Novruz Baykhanov was recognized as the tournament's best forward, demonstrating impressive offensive prowess throughout the season.
