First win for last season’s champion

Eisbären Berlin won its first game of the 2011 European Trophy when Slovan Bratislava was beaten 4-2 yesterday. Djurgården suffered its first loss.
The 2010 champion Eisbären Berlin had gotten a poor start of the European Trophy but yesterday Slovan Bratislava was beaten 4-2. T.J. Mulock scored three of the goals for the German side.
HIFK beat Djurgården, who until now had a perfect record, 4-3 in overtime. HIFK had a 3-0 lead after the first period but Djurgården recovered and tied it with five minutes remaining. Kim Hirschovits then got the game-winner for the Finns at 63:28.
Kärpät beat Färjestad 3-2 in a shootout game but is still without a regular time win after five games.
Jokerit had no problem with Frölunda. A comfortable 7-2 win in Tikkurilan Valtti-Arena.
Red Bulls Salzburg were down 2-1 to Kometa Brno after two periods but scored twice in the third to win 3-2.
One game will be played tonight when Pardubice visits Tappara in Hakametsä Arena.
