HIFK beat Djurgården, who until now had a perfect record, 4-3 in overtime. HIFK had a 3-0 lead after the first period but Djurgården recovered and tied it with five minutes remaining. Kim Hirschovits then got the game-winner for the Finns at 63:28.

Kärpät beat Färjestad 3-2 in a shootout game but is still without a regular time win after five games.

Jokerit had no problem with Frölunda. A comfortable 7-2 win in Tikkurilan Valtti-Arena.

Red Bulls Salzburg were down 2-1 to Kometa Brno after two periods but scored twice in the third to win 3-2.
