HV71 scores five goals in five minutes to come back from being behind 2-7 to win 8-7 in shootout.
AIK were going for an easy win against HV71 and was up 6-2 after two periods. HV71 changed goalie in an effort to come back but just 87 seconds into the third Oscar Ahlström made it 7-2 and the fans were celebrating the win. But after the goal something happened, AIK lost their momentum and HV71 were determined to finish the game in a good way. But not even they could have believed that it would be possible for them to win the game.
At 7:50 Oscar Fantenberg made it 7-3 and when Johan Lindström made 7-4 just 1:07 later AIK was a bit shaky and took a time out. But it didn't help and suddenly AIK who played without their star goalie Viktor Fasth (cold) were almost in panic. Markus Svensson in goal let som easy shots in and at 12:45 the game was tied. HV71 had scored five goals in less than five minutes.
HV 71 outshot AIK 18-2 in the last period and were close to score the game winner in regular time, AIK managed to hold on to a point but were heavily booed by their fans after 60 minutes. The overtime were goalless with AIK being closest to the game winner but in the shootout HV71 completed an heroic effort to turn 2-7 into 8-7. Jesper Fasth had five points
