Tarasenko scores a hattrick
11 Oct 2011 | Henrik Lundqvist
When Sibir Novosibirsk beat Salavat Yulaev UFA 6-3 Vladimir Tarasenko scored a hattrick. Since 1996 only three players under the age of 20 had scored a hattrick in the highest league of Russia.
Maxim Afinogenov, Evgeni Malkin and Maxim Kitsyn had done it before. Now Vladimir Tarasenko became the fourth player under 20 years since 1996 to score a hatrrick in the highest league of Russia. Tarasenko scored the first home goal for 1-1 and then added the important 4-3 and 5-3 goals. Finland's Jori Lehterä also had a great night with two goals and an assist. Salavat had a 3-2 lead after two periods but the home team's 4-0 win in the third period changed the outcome.
