The game started pretty bad for the home team. Amur forward Aleksandr Nikulin won the opening faceoff, but his partners lost the puck and Roman Starchenko came to the goalie Jan Lasak and pulled a puck past him at 0:10. Then Amur got a chance to score 5-on-3, when the 4th Barys player came from penalty box Dmitry Lugin scored with a quick wrist shot at 05:57. In the second the Kazakhstan team got a 2-goal lead with Nigel Dawes and Brandon Bochenski goals. In the third Barys was able to extend their lead. At 46:09 Lukas Kaspar converted a nice pass from Kevin Dallman and made it 1-4. Jakub Petruzalek scored his 15th goal of the season at 52:14 with a pass from goalie Jan Lasak. Nigel Dawes later in third closed the game 2-5. Next game these teams will play tomorrow, again in Khabarovsk.

"Barys wanted to win tonight more than our team. Our players weren't able in this game, and it's my fault," Amur head coach Hannu Jortikka said to Amur's official site. "It's bad that we disappointed 7100 spectators, who came to this game, but we have a chance to proof that we can do better tomorrow."

Sibir lost to Metallurg Nk in its last home game of the year 2011. The away team opened the scoring at 11:15 with an Alexey Kosourov power-play goal with Aleksandr Chernikov in the penalty box for high-sticking. Three minutes later Jonas Enlund tied the game in power-play mode. The last goal of the game was also scored in power-play, but only in overtime, when Mikhail Kuklev scored after a pass from Jyrkki Välivaara. Sibir goalie Bernd Bruckler stopped 38 shots, but couldn't help his team this night.

"We played pretty bad in the first two periods, but our goalie helped us to earn one point tonight," Sibir head coach Dmitry Yushkevich said to Sibir's official site.
