All quiet on the Belarus front

Among four Tuesday games in KHL there was one, which attracted the attention of many fans. In Minsk Dinamo faced Vityaz Chekhov.

After a scandal game in Minsk November 6 Vityaz came to Belarus again to show everyone, that they still want to get a playoff-spot. Early in the second Dinamo took the lead with an Andrei Stas goal after a good pass from Jaroslav Obsut. Nikita Korovkin came into the attacking zone from the left wing, made a shot and Nikita Dvurechinsky was the first on the rebound and tied the game at 30:05. Another quick attack gave the away team a one-goal lead; Mikhail Zhukov fed a pass up to Sergey Goncharov, who scored his first KHL goal in the first game. With 6:09 left in the third Vityaz scored a third goal; Mikhail Anisin got a pass being near the post and scored it in power-play. Dinamo tried to get visitors, but could only manage to erase a two-goal deficit to one. Jere Karalahti scored in the last minute of the game with a pass from Teemu Laine. There was only a one fight in the game Tomas Slovak faced Nik Tarnaski, the Canadian player beat Slovakian opponent.
"I asked our guys to play an active hockey, we can't do everything we want, but we scored three times and won a game. In the end of the game we were a little bit lucky, but success is never blamed," Vityaz head coach Andrei Nazarov said to Dinamo Minsk's official site.
"It was our worst game of the season. We had problems with speed; opponents caught our players in the neutral zone. I told my players that Vityaz with tough-guys or not is a strong team. Frankly speaking, I expected something in this way, that's why the result didn't become a big surprise for me," Dinamo Minsk head coach Marek Sikora said to their official site.

Atlant won 12th of the last 14th games and continued to lead the Tarasov division of the Western conference. Dmitry Upper opened the scoring with a tip-in goal after a nice sole move from Eduard Lewandowski at 6:58. Dynamo took possession of the game and began to make chances; they tied the game at 14:37 with Maxim Solovyov's shot from the blue line and the screen before Atlant's goalie Konstantin Barulin. 28 seconds later Alexander Rybakov shot from the board and pulled Atlant ahead 2-1. It was Rybakov's first goal of this season. Early in the second Marek Kvapil tied the game again with a high wrist shot. In the third Atlant scored twice with Eduard Lewandowski and Andrei Zubarev goals and won the game. Lewandowski and Solovyov became the best players of the game. Konstantin Barulin, who played last weekend for the Russian national team, stopped 34 shots and won his 13th game of the season.
SKA Saint-Petersburg won all four games against CSKA this season. The last army derby was held in Moscow. But the game began well for CSKA, Denis Parshin lying on the ice sent the puck to Jakub Stepanek's net, who played a great match for the Czech national team two days ago. With 1:13 remaining in the first Matthias Weinhandl tied the game. With a great move from the behind the net he scored a puck with a high wrist shot. During a two-minute span in the second SKA took a three-goal lead with Dmitry Kalinin, Evgeny Artyukhin and Matthias Weinhandl goals. At 34:58 Denis Parshin made a double in power-play after a pass from Yakov Rylov. Maxim Rybin closed the game in the middle of the third. Tony Mårtensson earned a three assist points, after this game Mårtensson with 39 points got closer to Vadim Shipachyov, who had 40 pts. CSKA lost a 6th straight game and at Thursday they will try to stop Atlant.

Dinamo Riga took the lead in the middle of the first; a puck after Mikelis Redlihs's shot got into the net after a ricochet from Martinsh Karsums, who became the author of the goal. Later in the second, Latvian players played well in power-play with Emil Lundberg in the penalty box for holding. Ville Nieminen and Jamie Lundmark cut the Slovak defense and gave a nice pass to Sandis Ozolins, who made it 2-0. Juraj Mikus with a nice sole move made it 1-2 at 41:12. It was a lonely thing that HC Lev was able to manage this night.
