Lev Poprad lost on Christmas Eve the game at home in Poprad. Lubos Bartecko opened the scoring at 0:28 after his shot from the blue line and a ricochet from Janne Niskala. Jonas Andersson in the middle of the first tied the game with a tip-in goal after a pass from Ivan Vishnevsky. Tomas Netik gave Lev a 1-goal lead at 17:08 after a nice sole move.
"It was for us difficult to play on this small rink in the first, but then we found the way, how to do it," Atlant head coach Janne Karlsson said to Lev's official site.
In the second Atlant turned the score into its account with two goals from Viktor Bobrov and Dmitry Kosmachyov. Kosmachyov scored his first KHL goal after playing about 100 games. Martin Strbak tied the game again at 53:57 with his first goal for Lev. The home team began to dominate on the ice, but a fast counter-attack and Dmitry Upper set up a pass to Jonas Andersson, who made it 3-4. With 75 seconds remaining in the third Emil Lundberg with a wrist shot tied the game. In the first minute of the overtime Patrik Zackrisson closed the game with a high shot and led his team to another victory.
"In the second period we lost concentration, and lost two goals. We should learn how to play when you are leading in the game. Before Christmas the teams showed fans a great hockey. I should say that Ladislav Nagy was out with concussion after a hit in the second period," Lev head coach Radim Rulik said to their official site.

Dinamo Minsk blanks the leader of the West SKA 3-0. Minsk took the lead at 16:10 when Jaroslav Obsut with his classic shot from the blue line scored a goal with Evgeny Artyukhin in the penalty-box for roughing. Early in the second the Belarus players made it 2-0 with Alexander Pavlinovich's first KHL goal with a shot from the blue line. Minsk closed the game with an empty-net/shorthanded goal, Andrei Stas did it. Minsk goalie Kevin Lalande stopped 39 shots and made his third shutout of the season. The best gift on Christmas for his team and himself, isn't it?
"It's great that we won two games in a row, but we have one more game before the New Year short break. Will I celebrate Christmas? For sure, as it should be: dinner with family, gifts," Zbynek Irgl said to Pressball.by.
