Växjö wins in Austria
In the final of the Red Bulls Salute Tournament ZSC Lions faced Växjö Lakers in a thrilling encounter at the KE KELIT Arena in Zell am See, with 1,785 spectators in attendance. ZSC Lions dominated the early stages, taking a 3-0 lead in the second period with goals from Nicolas Baechler, Sven Andrighetto, and Justin Sigrist. However, Växjö Lakers mounted an impressive comeback in the third period, with Emil Sylvegard scoring twice before Joachim Blichfeld tied the game at 3-3 with just 13 seconds remaining. The match went into overtime, where Dennis Rasmussen scored the game-winning goal just over a minute in, securing a 4-3 victory for Växjö Lakers.

Both goalies played well when Frölunda defeated Växjö Lakers 2-0. Martin Gerber made 36 saves, but was beaten once by a blueline shot by Christian Bäckman. Frölunda also added a late empty net goal and Dane Frederik Andersen saved 20 shots for a shutout in his first Elitserien appearance.
