INL playoff pairings chosen
The Inter-National-League (INL), joint competition of teams from Austria, Italy and Slovenia, has a fixed schedule for the upcoming quarterfinals. Jesenice beat Caldaro 4:3ot in the decisive game for the last playoff ticket. Immediately afterwards, the first teams picked their opponent for quarterfinals. The pairings are: Gherdeina – Jesenice, Appiano – Bregenzerwald, Egna – Feldkirch, Zell am See – Lustenau. All best-of-five series start on March 1.
(27 Feb 2014)Rink trouble for Bregenzerwald
EHC Bregenzerwald of the Austrian Nationalliga (2nd league) are without a home rink since their home arena Eisarena Alberschwende will be closed. The muncipilaty has decided to close the outdoor arena. There are plans for a new indoor rink but that can open earliest to the 2012/2013 season. The club hopes they can find a solution so they can still play at the Eisarena Alberschwende for the 2011/2012 season.
