Goals and assists
Four goals in the second period swung this game in the Clan’s favour, as the hosts beat Belfast at the third time of asking this week.
The sides were level after 20 minutes without a goal, but that was soon to change at the beginning of the middle period. Vaclav Stupka put the Clan ahead 3:47 into the period, with Rasmus Bjerrum then doubling the lead shorthanded 2:13 later. With 28:50 gone the Giants found themselves three down in Glasgow as Gerard Hanson converted for the hosts, and then a minute before the period was over Scott Pitt made it four.
Brendan Connolly’s powerplay effort with 5:25 to go rounded off the win for the Clan who, after going out of the Challenge Cup and losing in the league to the Clan this week already, finally got their win.
