Evan Bloodoff scored 59 seconds into overtime to earn the Coventry Blaze a come from behind overtime win in Guildford on Sunday night.
Guildford went ahead 5:43 into this game after a couple of good chances had gone begging, but Ian McNulty finally put the loose puck past CJ Motte to open the scoring. Coventry were level less than three minutes later through Janne Kivilahti in close, before Johnny Curran beat Lindskoug with 1:17 left in the period to give the Blaze a 2-1 in a period where they'd killed six minutes of penalties.
That was a lead that the Blaze held through period three and until 46:41 when Chris Gerrie tied things up. Ian McNulty then put the Flames back ahead with just eight minutes to play as they looked to finally snap their losing streak. However, Nathanael Halbert's excellent pass set up Luke Ferrara for a back-door one-timer to tie the game just 2:46 later.
With Brett Ferguson given a minor penalty inside the final 30 sections of the period, Ferrara missed a golden chance to win it for the Blaze in regulation but missed the target from an almost identical spot to his tying goal.
Bloodoff crashed home a shot from another well-placed Halbert set up to earn the Blaze the bonus point.
