The Whitecourt Wolverines Junior Hockey Club was founded in August of 2007.
In it's inaugural season, the team thrilled fans with an appearence in the league final taking the then first place Peace River Navigators to a 7th game before finally losing the league championship.
In the club's next 3 seasons, the Wolverines went on to set a new standard in the N.W.J.H.L becoming the first league franchise to win 3 consecutive Championships and provided the league with the best ever showing at the Hockey Alberta Provincial Tournament where in the 08/09 & 09/10 seasons the team won Silver Medals.
The team is the operating arm of the Stark Sports Society. The Stark Sports Society is a registered not for profit organization dedicated to youth.
