With an overwhelming dominance the visitors of Eurohockey.com have chosen Latvian forward Martins Karsums of KHL’s Dynamo Moscow as the European Player of the Month for October 2013.
The previous month was arguably the most successful one in Karsums career, as he managed to amass ten goals and four assists for a total of fourteen points in thirteen games played. His performance was one of the reasons why Dynamo Moscow finished October with nine victories and is currently ranked second in the Western Conference.
Karsums and Dynamo’s head coach Olegs Znaroks go way back as the latter had coached Martins not only during several international tournaments as the head coach of the Latvian national team but also during the 2005 and 2006 World Junior Championships.
Before joining Dynamo in summer, Karsums played three seasons for KHL’s Dinamo Riga. Back in 2008-09 he also played a total of 24 NHL games.
