Damien Brunner named European Player of the Month for February 2012
14 Mar 2012 | - eurohockey.com
Brunner was the first Swiss player in 30 years to become NLA's top scorer. This achievement earns him Eurohockey.com's monthly award European Player of the Month.
As in the previous year (Glen Metropolit) again a Zug player became the Swiss NLA top scorer - the almost 26 year old Swiss international Damien Brunner.
With 24 goals and 36 assists (60 points) in 45 games he kept second placed Fribourg attacker Julien Sprunger (51) on distance by a large margin. By that the attacker is the first Swiss player in 30 (!) years to get this title.
The last one to achieve this was the Arosa player Guido Lindemann during the 1981/82 season. He is the father of Brunner's EV Zug colleague Sven Lindemann and of Langnau's Kim Lindemann.
Eurohockey.com wants to thank all our visitors that participated in the voting to name the winner.
