Polish women outstanding in Seoul

Poland won the Women's World Championship Division 2B in Korea losing only one point in five games.
The Polish women's national team won promotion from last week's Women's World Championship Division 2B in Seoul, Korea.
The key game to the success was the 4-3 win against the silver medalist Spain on the opening day. Spain had a 3-2 lead after two periods but Izabela Malinowska tied it and Ewelina Czarnecka scored the winner in the middle of the third period.
In the second game Poland easily beat Belgium 7-0 and in the third Iceland was beaten 7-2.
The only game Poland left without 3 points was on the fourth day against the host Korea.
Karolina Pozniewska scored 1-0 for Poland at 44:42 but Korea's Jongah Park tied it with 55 seconds to go. The game continued in overtime where Pozniewska only needed 1:18 to score her second goal of the game.
On the last day Poland, like all the other teams, got a big win against South Africa; 18-0.
Karolina Pozniewska won the scoring title with 9 goals and 4 assists. The was followed by team-mate
Magdalena Szynal (6+3) and Korea's
Jongah Park, only 15 years old, finished third with 6 goals and 2 assists.
After the opening loss to Poland Spain won the remaing four game to finish second. Korea ended third, Iceland fourth and Belgium fifth. South Africa who lost all games with a total goal difference 4-52 ended last.

Poland is promoted to the 2013 IIHF Ice Hockey Women's World Championship
