Cracovia Krakow and Miercurea Ciuc make it to the third round
The second round of the Continental Cup was played October 22-24 in Maribor, Slovenia and Tilburg, The Netherlands.
Cracovia Krakow of Poland won the group in Tilburg with three victories against Kohtla-Järve (EST) 9-1, Jaca (SPA) 10-1 and the home team Tilburg 5-4.
Miercurea Ciuc advanced from the other group. 8-3 versus hosts Maribor in the first game was followed by 4-3 against Karaganda (KAZ). When they lost the last game against Dunaujvaros (HUN) 5-2 they had already secured the group victory.
In the next stage Cracovia will play Coventry Blaze (GBR), Liepajas Metalurgs (LAT) and Rouen Dragons (FRA) in Rouen.
Miercurea Ciuc will face SønderjyskE Vojens (DEN), Sokil Kyiv (UKR) and HC Asiago (ITA) in Asiago November 26-28.
The Super Final is played in Minsk, Belarus January 14-16 and will besides the two group winners of stage 3 also contain Yunost Minsk and Red Bull Salzburg (AUT).
