KHL awards 2012

24 May 2012 | Roman Solovyev

Yesterday 21 awards were handed out in a season closing ceremony which was held in Moscow. Unfortunately not so many players came to the ceremony.

All players and team staff of team Russia who won world championship last week-end were invited to this party, but only Dmitry Kalinin, Alexander Perezhogin and Konstantin Barulin visited it. Russian awards are not as interesting as in for example NHL, because they usually use statistics as the main point of the award. That’s why winners of 9 awards came clear before the ceremony:

Vsevolod Bobrov Award for the team who scored most goals in the season – SKA (254 goals in 69 games)

Top Sniper award – Brandon Bochenski (Barys) 27

Top Scorer – Alexander Radulov (Salavat Yulaev) 63

Top Defenseman Scorer – Kevin Dallman (Barys) 54

Most useful player – Tony Mårtensson (+35 in 54 games)

Gentleman on the ice award for players who have more points and less PIM: Defenseman Krisjanis Redlihs (57 games, 23 pts, +15, 14 pim), Forward Tony Mårtensson (69 games, 65 pts, +33, 12 pim)

“Second”(not 2nd) award – the earliest goal of the season Marek Kvapil (Dynamo, 0:09), the latest goal Danis Zaripov (Ak Bars, 108:54)

Iron Man award for player who played most games in last three seasons – Alexander Perezhogin (Avangard) 208 games

Top Line award – Alexei Morozov – Niko Kapanen – Danis Zaripov (Ak Bars) 46 goals

Best coach – Oleg Znarok (Dynamo Moscow)

Sych award (Best Manager) – president of Dynamo Moscow Mikhail Tyurkin

Alexei Cherepanov Award (Best Rookie) – Dmitry Lugin (Amur)

Best goalie – Alexander Yeryomenko (Dynamo Moscow)

Golden stick Award (best player of regular season) – Alexander Radulov, 3rd time in a row

Golden helmet Award: Alexander Yeryomenko (Dynamo Moscow), Dmitry Kalinin (SKA), Kevin Dallman (Barys), Alexander Radulov (Salavat Yulaev), Roman Cervenka (Avangard), Mikhail Anisin (Dynamo Moscow)

Also the doctor of Lokomotiv Yaroslavl Andrei Zimin got a prize as Best Doctor posthumously.
