Today HK Vitez website reports IIHF announced the forfeit of CH Jaca from First Round of Continental Cup held in Miercurea Ciuc (Romania) in September. This is just the last bad news for Jaca fans. In last weeks the club from Aragon, winner of 11 Spanish League titles (7 in last 12 years), announced the loss of main sponsor, Aramon Group, that injected in club's coffers 60.000 euro yearly, and various uncollected credits with Aragon local government. Despite a positive balance in last years, club had to restore the budget due to past debts. "Currently we can count on 33.000 euro, with this amount we can't arrive even at Christmas" said President José Arbués.

Without the money to pay best players' salaries, Jaca already suffered key losses: Alejandro Hernandez and Jordy Angles already signed for Escor Bakh Vitoria, the new richest club of the League. Besides them, Arbues announced other five players don't return to Jaca.

"Playing the Continental Cup in Romania will cost us 26.000 euro, it's clear that for us is impossible now to afford this expense" - said Arbués- "We'll try to build the best team possible, we have a great junior department and if we can't sign any import we'll play with our current 14 players roster plus our youngsters. We suffered the loss of about 15 players in last two seasons, I think the Federation should find a tradeoff for the club"
