The Edinburgh Capitals bounced back from a 6:1 loss to the Braehead Clan on Saturday night with a big win over their Scottish neighbours, whilst NHLer Paul Bissonnette made his home debut for the Cardiff Devils.

 
 
 
 
Friday 9 November

Braehead Clan V Edinburgh Capitals 6:1

Richard Hartmann grabbed the first goal of the game and the only goal for the Edinburgh Capitals midway through the first period, as the Clan found their form to break a four game losing streak.

Matt Haywood levelled the game on the powerplay late in the first to go into the first break with the scores level.

Goals from Matt Hanson and Ash Goldie in the second gave the homeside a two goal advantage heading into the final 20 minutes, and The Clan finished off in style with goals from Jade Galbraith, Drew Miller and Brock McPherson sealed the 6:1 victory for Braehead.


Saturday 10 November

Edinburgh Capitals V Braehead Clan 8:4

Edinburgh and Braehead were at it again on Saturday night, this time in the Scottish capital.
The capitals looked to use the home ice to their advantage as The Clan arrived in Edinburgh, but it was Braehead who scored first. Steve Birnstill grabbed the early goal at 5.10 in the first period.

Midway through the period, Peter Holecko managed to level the scores until Ash Goldie grabbed his 9th of the season just over 5 minutes later.
Two late goals from Martin Cingel and Marcis Zembergs sent the game into the first break with the Capitals leading 3:2.

Richard Hartmann converted on the powerplay at 8.05 in the second to give the Capitals a 2 goal lead, quickly followed by Peter Holecko at 9.53 to end the period at 5:3

Three quick goals from Richard Hartmann, Marcis Cingel and Rene Jarolin gave the home side an 8:2 lead.
Bobby Chaumont and Ash Goldie pulled the game back to within four for The Clan but it was too little too late as the Capitals took the game 8:4


Fife Flyers V Dundee Stars 1:2

Two late goals from Mike Wirll salvaged two points for Dundee after Fife led from most of the game.
Casey Haines grabbed the first goal on the powerplay midway through the first, and after a goaless second period, Fife led 1:0 with 20 minutes left.

As Captain Casey Haines sat for 2 minutes on a slashing call, Mike Wirll converted on the powerplay to level the game.
With less than a minute to go, Wirll struck again to grab the two points with 56 seconds remaining.

Hull Stingrays V Coventry Blaze 4:2

The Hull Stingrays looked to extend their three game unbeaten streak as the Coventry Blaze visited the Hull Arena.

Hull got off to a good start, Janis Ozolins grabbed his 12th goal of the year to take the early lead at 4.23.
Jereme Tendler doubled the lead at 10.15 to see the period end Hull 2:0 Coventry.

In the second period, NHLer Matt Beleskey of the Anaheim Ducks capitalised on two powerplay chances to level the game going into the final period.

Dominic Osman managed to find the net to put Hull infront with time running down, and as Steven Chalmers served a 2 minute interference call, Osman gave the Stingrays a two goal lead at 14.40 in the third.

With a the clock winding down, Coventry couldn't capitalise on a man advantage and Hull couldn't find the empty net, sealing a 4:2 Hull Stingrays win.


Sunday 11 November

Coventry Blaze V Hull Stingrays 2:1

After extendning their win streak to four the previous night, the Hull Stingrays looked to make it a four point weekend against the Coventry Blaze as they travelled to the Skydome.

Much like the previous night, the Home side struck first, and struck early. Sam Smith put the Blaze ahead at 2.25, followed up by Shea Guthrie at 6.41, closing out the opening period of play with the Blaze 2 goals ahead.

Hull managed to draw one back through Dominic Osman midway through the second period on a 5 on 3 powerplay, but neither side found the net again.
Coventry took the win 2:1.


Cardiff Devils V Fife Flyers

Phoenix Coyotes' Paul Bissonnette made his home debut for the Devils after an impressive showing the weekend prior. This time the Devils welcomed the Fife Flyers to South Wales.
The Devils were without the suspended Max Birbraer and bench coach Neil Francis, Injured Tyson Marsh and Phil Hill who was away on international duty with Team GB.

Despite being short three players, the Devils got off to a good start, seeing much of the possession.
Luke Piggott grabbed the first goal with an Impressive one timer at 7.41.

Kyle Horne was sent to the box for 2 minutes on a tripping call, giving the Devils a powerplay which Ben Davies capitalised on with a nice backhand effort to double the home sides lead.
Before the period drew to a close, Chris Blight tipped Gerad Adams shot to end the first period 3:0 to the Devils.

A scoreless second period drew to a close, and midway through the third, Paul Bissonnette found the net on a shorthanded effort to score on his home debut.
The Devils then saw the clock down and took the 4:0 victory.


Dundee Stars V Edinburgh Capitals 5:4

Dundee looked to come out of week 10 with all four available points as the Edinburgh Capitals came to town on their third game of the week.


The Capitals got off to a good start, grabbing the opening goal at 13.33 in the first through Neil Hay, and saw the period out to keep their lead.
Early in the second, Rene Jarolin added to the Capitals lead, before Pat Bowen managed to pull the game back within one midway through the period.

The third period saw the Capitals strike first again, this time through Marcis Zembergs. Jeff Hutchins managed to pull the game back to within one only 26 seconds later.

As Juraj Senko sat on a high-sticking minor, Matt Baxter of Dundee levelled the game with just less than 10 minutes remaining. A minute later, Peter Holecko put the Capitals infront once more.

Sami Ryhanan managed to level the game before Tim Kraus sealed the victory for the Dundee Stars with a late powerplay goal.
