Austrian media reports another attempt by Bolzano Foxes to play in EBEL
Summer has arrived and with the sun and the heat, comes also the request by Bolzano Foxes to join EBEL for next season. Every year Italian Federation denies permission because domestic hockey could suffer a loss of interest among the fans without one of most representative team. But this year the scenario could be different: despite an ambitious plan to create a new EliteLiga the economic crisis creating problems to many teams and jeopardize next season. SHC Fassa announced in early May team won't compete in next season due to a quarrel with City Council about the arena, Alleghe said at moment team hasn't enough resources to allign a competitive team after the abandon of main sponsor and finally, two days ago, vice-champion Valpellice made a statement considering the concrete possibility to withdraw team from EliteLeague due to economic difficulties. In this uncertain scenario, Bolzano Foxes is looking at the EBEL as a profitable alternative and, according to Austrian media, talks are underway with Austrian Federation and Italian counterpart
