SM-Liiga clubs want to expel Jokerit
The other clubs of the Finnish top league SM-Liiga are disappointed at Jokerit’s decision to move to KHL from season 2014-2015. Now Ilta-Sanomat reports that a majority of the clubs want Jokerit expelled immediately.
"I do not think so many of 13 hands would be in the air if we were to ask the management group how many support that Jokerit plays in the league next season", said a person with influence in SM-Liiga to Ilta-Sanomat.
The paper has discussed the issue with SM-Liiga’s board of directors and representatives of the other league clubs. According to the newspaper, a majority want Jokerit expelled from the league immediately.
We will report more about this in a few days when the SM-liiga clubs have had their meeting and release their final statement.
