For the second year in a row Skellefteå wins the title after winning the final series in four straight games.
Skellefteå AIK is dominating Swedish hockey as no club has ever done before. 3-0 in the fourth final game against Färjstad gave a 4-0 win in the final series and the clubs third title in club history.
After losing two finals in a row Skellefteå now has won two finals in a row and what a way they have done it in. During the last two seasons the team has won 24 playoff games and only lost three.
Today's final was the closest one and the game was scorelss for 42 minutes before one of the most unknown Skellefteå players Anton Lindholm scored his first goal of the season. A nice moment to save the first goal too, as the goal turned out to be the championship winning goal.
Because after the goal Färjestad tried but were never really close to beat Markus Svensson who made 23 saves for the shutout. Svensson's second shutout in the playoff, another success story as he started the season as backup.
With three minutes left Pierre-Edouard Bellemare made it 2-0 after a great play with Bud Holloway on a power play and one minute later when Martin Lundberg scored on the empty net to secure the title.
Joakim Lindström was given the Stefan Liv Memorial Trophy as the MVP of the playoff and said after the game "It's wonderful, the best feeling I ever felt. It's so nice to see the time count down and we have three goals up. We have fighted so hard for this".
