Sweet atmosphere at Franches-Montagnes

As expected Biel gets it easy.

Franches-Montagnes 1-12 Biel

42 years later Swiss Cup is back. In the first round of Swiss Cup we didn't expect many surprises. The draw was arranged to weak teams play the strongest teams at home. They aren't to supposed to be strong competition to the LNA teams. NLA teams are just stronger and faster on all levels. Very different from soccer games were you can have some surprises. Biel did take the game very serious. The winner of Swiss cup collects 225.000 CHF. So for a team like Biel it would be a precious help for the annual budget. Biel scored the first goal of the game at 4:32 on a power-play situation. Thomas Wellinger assisted Gaetan Haas for the goal. To know how huge are the differences Between Biel(LNA) and Franches-Montagnes(1.League)... well... Biel passed two minutes in camp at 3 against 5. Naturaly Biel scored the second goal of the game by Ahren Spylo assisted by Gaetan Haas. And 11 seconds later Ehrensperger scored, assisted by Eliot Berthon. 18 seconds before the first period ended, Biel's top scorer Ahren Spylo scored the fourth and with four seconds to the end, Peter scored the fifth. No offense for home team but the practice game was done.

In the beginning of the second period Spylo score the sixth goal of the game and his third goal personally. Spylo would also assist Roullier for the seventh goal of the game. After that seventh goal at half-time, the home team scored the second goal of the game, what a prize to play against a professional team. But the real prize for home team would come at 33:50 in a power play situation by Michel Rothermund assisted by Loris Schlutcher. It took Biel 10 seconds to respond to home team's goal. One more time Ahren Spylo was the author. His fourth of the game. In the final two minutes of the second period Biel took time to score the goal number 9 in a power play situation by Wellinger and one minute later Raphael Herburger scored the goal number 10. Tradition wants that the player that scores the tenth goal of the game pays a round of beer to everyone in the team. The locker room will be happy.

The third period was still very offensive but with a slower pace. The goal number eleven was scored in another power play by Ehrensperger assisted by Martin Ulmer. With three minutes to play Biel scored by Martin Ulmer assisted by Igor Jelovac.

Ahren Spylo: "It was actually a fun atmosphere to play. I think the competition is positive to bring publicity to the game"

Anthony Rouiller: "Coach said to us to go fast score and then slow the pace. And we did that. Next Friday we play at home want to win against Fribourg."
