Bern was the stronger team tonight at Biel; Lugano in overtime; Fribourg still in trouble;

Biel 1-4 Bern

It was derby time tonight at Biel between the home team and the SC Bern. And like every derby everything can happen in the game. There is no favorite even when we look for the Bern's team and budget. Since 2008(Biel's comeback in LNA) Biel win 17 times and Bern 23. After yesterday's defeat at Lausanne by five goals without response Biel change all four lines for the game. The top-line today was Spylo-Peter-Arlbrandt. Bern presented a team with no changes after a 3-0 win against Ambri. Started better the home with goal from Gianni Ehrensperger at 2:10. After the first goal in the game the pace continue in very good level. Both teams wanted in the game. Before the minute 10 Bern's goalie Marco Bührer did two great saves after two shot from Spylo and Biel's goalie Simon Rytz made a great save after a Bud Holloway shot. Simon Rytz did save one more time Biel from a Bern goal. In shorthanded situation Bud Holloway stole a puck from a Biel's player at the blue line but didn't manage to score the first for his team.

 In the the second period the ritme of the game continue very high Rytz continue to do some great interventions in the game specially in power-play situation that Bern had. Finally at minute 27 Bern score the first goal of the game by young Bertschy assisted by former NHL player Marc-André Gragnani. Totally deserved for Bern. After the choke that Bern put in Biel in the first ten minutes of the second period, the home team finally begin to play Bern's side. At minute 35 Rytz made another great save in a shot by Chuck Kobasew and two minute later another against Marc Reichert. The second goal came right after. In a confuse play near Rytz cage. Alain Berger was the author.

In the third period Biel came decided to change the game in his favor. And Bern did everything to keep the score like that. Biel pressed and Guy Boucher asked for time-out. The chess game was played in both sides by both coaches. That time-out asked for Guy Boucher did change the pace of the game. Bern once again the better team in the game and the third goal scored by Bertschy was no surprise. The fouth goal for the visiting was scored in empty-net play by Thomas Rüfenacht.

Ahren Spylo: "We start very well in the game. But the Bern came out very strong and show a solid game. They make's us loose a lot energy in the game. The result is fair. Next Tuesday if we want to have a chance to win at Rapperswil we must give 100% in the game"

Lugano 4-3 Geneve (SO)

We expected a good game between two teams in good shape in the beginning of this league. Geneva scored first by Kevin Romy and three minutes later Lugano responded by Eric Walsky assisted by finnish player Ilari Filpula. Three minutes later would be Filpula to score the second goal for Lugano. Before the end of the firdt period Geneve tied the game by Jacquemet. The third goal for Geneva was scored by Matt D'Agostini assisted by Kevin Romy. But Lugano tied the game by Linus Klasen and end up to win the game in Shotout.

Fribourg 5-6 Davos

Davos was the first team to score in the game by Dario Simion assisted by Sven Jung. The disgrace for home team continued in the first first period with one more goal from Dario Simion and 30 seconds later with a goal from Andreas Ambühl and... 30 seconds later a goal from Perttu Lindgren.  Zero-four in just 12 minutes, the game was done. Benny Plüss scored the first goal for home team assisted by Julien Sprunger at minute 15. Before the first period was over time for another goal for Davos by Mauro Jörg. The festival continue in second period for Davos. Paschoud scored goal number six. Thirty seconds later Marc-Antoine Pouliot scored the second goal and one minute later Brügger score the third for Fribourg. In the beginning of the third period Petteri Wirtanen scored the fourth for Fribourg. In the final forcing Sprunger score the fifth goal for home team.
