Romanian hockey mourns the loss of Endre Kosa, one of the most charismatic figures of player in the last decade

Căpitan (goddbye captain), along with this words, hundreds of candle lighted up the night in the city of Miercurea Ciuc, Romania, to remember the tragic death of Endre Kosa, for all the local Sport Club fans, simply "the Captain". The 40-years-old, born and raised in the city and in the Sport Club, very likely committed suicide in the morning of last Monday by jumping from the 9th floor of his apartment. Although the hypothesis of suicide is the most likely, a local police spokesman added that police had opened an investigation to determine the precise conditions under which the incident occurred.

Endre Kosa was a key player of the team during the most successful era of Sport Club, winning 9 Romanian Leagues and the MOL Liga in 2010/11. He earns also 60 caps for national team, playing 13 World Championships with four Division II titles. After playing last complete season in 2013-14, he occasionally wore skates again to help the team in the domestic league, the last time last 18 October in 18-0 victory against Sportul Studentesc, when he also served an assist. But his main duty was now coaching the U10 and U12 teams of the club.
"Endre was always a model of diligence and devotion. Its reliability was a pattern." said the club in a statement to remember the athlete and express condolence to the wife and two children. "With deep pain we say goodbye to a hockey champion. Endre Kosa, you were and you will always be a champion of honesty and integrity ! Farewell dear captain ..." wrote a teammate
