Russia has scored the biggest victory of the Maccabiah Games in Israel, defeating Germany by a score of 27-1 on Monday evening.
Sergei Abramov led the way for Russia, scoring a whopping eight goals. The VHL forward is playing in his second tournament for his national team, with his last apperance taking place at the 2010 World Junior A Challenge in Canada.
35-year-old forward Roman Dolgikh, who hasn't played professionally since a two-game stint in the VHL back in 2013-2014, also was on the top of his game, scoring four goals for the best game of his international career so far, which only spans this tournament.
Evgenii Popitich also managed to pop in three goals, while Artem Sursov, Ilia Glushkov and Radmir Sakaev all potted in two each.
David Ressler scored the lone goal for Germany, who have struggled since the start of the tournament. In three games, the team has allowed 63 goals total, while Feodor Boiarchinov has three of the team's seven goals to date in what is proving to be a weak tournament for the squad.
The win proved to be the biggest in the tournament's history, beating Canada's 20-0 victory over Germany on the weekend.
