Norway beats Sweden for the first time

The Norwegian team surprised their neighbours from Sweden and won the game 5-4 after overtime and shoot-out.
Per-Åge Skrøder and Mathis Olimb scored for Norway on the shoot-out that followed a scoreless overtime period, Both Loui Eriksson and Patrik Berglund missed theirs and Norway won a championship game against Sweden for the first time ever.
"I am ashamed", said Robert Nilsson. "It was very sloppy and we didn't play well, so of course you are disappointed."
The hero and player of the game was the Norwegian goalie Lars Haugen: "I dreamed about this last night, but honestly I had not believed it".
Sweden started the overtime with a 1:49 power-play after Skrøder had taken a slashing penalty late in the third period, but failed to score. Instead, just after Skrøder had returned to the ice, he and Mads Hansen got a 2-0 break-away against Erik Ersberg in the Swedish net. The KHL champion Ersberg won that battle. A minute later Mattias Tedenby was close to score for Sweden after an individual effort but the game had to be decided in a shoot-out.
Sweden out-shot Norway 46-20 and looked like a winner early in the game. The Swedes had a 3-1 lead after 15 minutes and also scored a 4-1 goal (Jimmie Ericsson) in the last minute of the first period, but it was disallowed because the whistle had just blown.
"Maybe we took it a little too easy in the second period, they came back and scored their goals," said Loui Eriksson. "Of course we have to play better against Austria on Monday".
Patrik Berglund and Loui Eriksson scored two goals each for Sweden while the Norwegian goals were scored by Martin Røymark, Morten Ask, Marius Holtet and Anders Bastiansen.
