Game recap

Coventry Blaze began their Scottish double-header road trip with a two-goal win in Glasgow against the Clan on Thursday night.

Period one was played at a frantic pace, and after passing earlier when he should possibly had shot Gabriel Chabot put Clan ahead with a nice wrist shot with 6:13 played. JD Dudek tied the game at 9:13, but the hosts were back ahead at 10:24 after Paavo Hölsä spilled a shot into the path of Kevin Massy.

John Curran fired a one-timer past John Muse from a tight angle at 17:57 to tie it up again.

Mitch Cook put the Blaze back ahead 97 seconds into period three, while with 2:03 left in the game John Curran took a Ross Venus pass and neatly finished past Muse to make it 4-2. 8:58 into period three, Dudek converted on the powerplay to put Coventry three ahead.

Clan kept pushing, however, and Brad Kennedy scored in close with 3:57 to play to pull them back to two behind. Hölsä made a couple of good saves on the following plays to keep the visitors up b a pair, a lead they held until the final buzzer.
